Carrying the intensity from Saturday's game to Sunday's match at home against New England College helped the team pull out its first win. Campbell contributed two more goals to the weekend in the 5-3 win. Also contributing was first-year Heather Quadir with her first collegiate goal, late in the first half assisted by Campbell. Junior Mary Snediker scored twice in one minute early in the second half to give Colby its five goals of the game. Snediker's second goal was a penalty corner assisted by junior Chelsea Rosenheimer. In goal, Enos made another eight saves, helping the girls pull out the win.
For the first victory of the season, Enos was pleased that "everybody played a huge part in the win." Seniors MaryClaire McGovern and Jess Egan had strong performances all over the field and Snediker was a force to be reckoned with on offense. The Mules hope to carry this positive momentum in the two upcoming games this week. They hosted the University of Maine at Farmington on Wednesday, Oct. 3 after press time. This weekend the Mules will travel south to Wesleyan University and Williams College with an attempt to overcome both the Cardinals (2-4 overall and 1-3 in NESCAC) and the Ephs (5-3 overall and 2-2 in NESCAC). The Mules are hungry earn a New England Small College Athletic Conference victory, and the weekend should prove to be an intense battle.
