With the elimination of a junior varsity team, and a subsequent decrease in their roster, the Mules plan to focus on maintaining a strong midfield and utilizing new talent.
However, NESCAC is a tough conference for men's soccer. Sibor said, "We have eight weekends to play nine teams. This means we have one weekend with two league games, and every other weekend we have one league game." Not only is the schedule grueling, but Sibor said, "Every game is a brutal, physical battle, and every team is evenly matched." The good news, as Sibor said, is that "these kinds of battles make the sport entertaining for fans and very fun for us players. We know we will play in a competitive match every Saturday. We also have midweek games almost every week against Maine schools, and they always summon up a little extra when they go against us." Captain Michael Baldwin agreed, commenting that the season will be "tough as usual in NESCAC," where Men's soccer is "one of the most competitive Division III conferences in the country."
This week the Mules will take on Maine Maritime at home on Wednesday, September 16, and then hit the road to play Wesleyan University this Saturday, September 19.
